P!lot is an indie pop / rock Brooklyn-based project that flew down South, and now resides in Charleston, SC. Quirky and ethereal – the sound is accented by Casios, mellotrons and omnichords.
Erel Pilo leads the project by writing the songs and singing leads. With a background in movement, she also incorporates dance, roller skating and aerials into performance. The band consists of Russ Green (bass), Erel Pilo (keys/guitar/vocals), John Renaldo (drums) and Matt Varner (guitar), and has also included Michael Ewens (keys). The band members expand on the songs, and sometimes add instruments such as pedal steel, congas or ukulele to the set.
Our next single, “Lonely Vampire” drops October 26th. Our soon-to-be-released album explores themes of femininity, felines, attraction and aeronautics. We’re inspired by science, literature, relationships and French Yé Yé. Related to hypnagogic pop / psych rock group, Leopard and the Diamond Sky (and studio The Secret Cottage), with musical collaborations with Amelea, Infinitikiss, Oropendola, and Ronan Conroy.

“Reminiscent of Kathryn Williams or Norah Jones, but with a unique delicacy and poignant charm, 'Balloon' is a simply dreamy slice of twinkling folk-pop. ”
“Remember the twee, romantic charms of Chairlift? Erel Pilo has that sort of doe-eyed guy/girl romantic pop song going on, but with an acoustic guitar instead of a synthesizer. ”
